Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim revealed that he has engaged in discussions with the Abu Dhabi government and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) regarding digital finance policy.
Speaking to the Straight Times on the 15th (local time), Prime Minister Anwar shared that the discussions covered topics such as digital innovation, data centers, and artificial intelligence (AI). He emphasized the need for significant changes in the current landscape.
He stressed that Malaysia must keep pace with industrial development, citing the United Arab Emirates as an example. Prime Minister Anwar added, “For several months, I have been advocating for digital innovation in sectors like finance and banking. We cannot afford to remain passive and lose momentum. It is essential for us to shape a robust digital finance policy through collaboration with UAE leaders.”
