Samsung and Morocco’s Ministry of Education Renew Partnership to Boost Digital Education

Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab and Morocco’s Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports have signed an amendment to their partnership agreement on February 26 to enhance digital education in Morocco. This initiative is designed to equip the youth with the ICT skills needed to thrive in the digital sector.

The collaboration builds on the Samsung Innovation Campus program, which offers ICT training and helps young people develop skills for future technological challenges. The program has already trained 780 teachers and engaged over 1,273 participants in nationwide Python programming courses.

Hee Young Hong, President of Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting education and innovation in Morocco. By integrating artificial intelligence into the program and launching the National Hackathon, the partnership aims to offer young Moroccans opportunities to explore and develop their skills in the digital sector.

The initiative aligns with Morocco’s Digital Strategy 2030, which seeks to train 100,000 young people annually in digital careers and create 240,000 digital jobs by 2030 to meet the growing demand for tech talent.

This partnership also responds to global trends, as a report by the Brookings Institution predicts that 230 million jobs in sub-Saharan Africa will require digital skills by 2030. Samsung’s initiative, therefore, not only supports Morocco’s digital strategy but also helps prepare young Moroccans for the future of work in the global digital economy.
