Strive Masiyiwa’s Cassava Technologies to Invest Up to $720 Million in Africa’s First AI Factory with NVIDIA

Cassava Technologies, founded by Zimbabwean telecom tycoon Strive Masiyiwa, plans to invest up to USD 720 million to build Africa’s first AI factory in partnership with NVIDIA. The investment will focus on deploying NVIDIA’s accelerated computing and AI software across South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya, and Morocco. The goal is to install 12,000 GPUs across the continent within the next three to four years, starting with 3,000 GPUs in South Africa. This initiative marks a significant step in advancing Africa’s AI infrastructure and capabilities.

The project aligns with Cassava’s broader vision of driving technological innovation across Africa, utilizing cutting-edge AI data centers powered by NVIDIA’s technology.
