Kathmandu – Tokma Technologies has officially launched the Tokma App and GCard, marking a significant step toward advancing Nepal’s digital economy. The products were unveiled at a special ceremony held at Yak and Yeti in Kathmandu, with Kulman Ghising, former managing director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), as the chief guest.
The Tokma App, integrated with NFC technology, is an all-in-one digital platform, or “Super App,” designed to streamline various services, while the GCard offers a digital card solution to eliminate the need for carrying physical cards. Ghising highlighted that these innovations would have a profound impact on Nepal’s digital economy, creating employment opportunities and improving daily efficiency for users.
Sanchaman Rai, co-founder of Tokma Technologies, shared that the products were the result of three years of intensive research. Sagar Angedambe, CEO of Tokma Technologies, emphasized that the Tokma App and GCard are not just technological advancements but also catalysts for change in Nepal.
Kuber Nepali, CEO of the Urban Transport Authority, noted that the introduction of ride-sharing through the Tokma app would enhance the convenience of public transportation in Nepal. The Vice President of the CAN Federation spoke about the necessity of innovation in today’s world, calling it an imperative for driving Nepal’s future growth.
Brand Ambassador Wilson Bikram Rai encouraged everyone to embrace local technologies like Tokma to drive national progress.
The Tokma app offers a variety of services, including ride-sharing, tour guides, shopping, security, and caregiving, while the GCard simplifies the sharing of personal and business details through NFC technology. The GCard is customizable and environmentally friendly, as it reduces the need for physical cards.
