AI Emerges as Top Cybersecurity Concern for Moroccan Organizations, Ausimètre Report Finds

Rabat – Artificial intelligence (AI) has overtaken cloud-related risks as the primary cybersecurity concern for Moroccan organizations, according to the 2025 Ausimètre report. Conducted by the Moroccan Association of Information Systems Users (AUSIM) in partnership with PwC, the annual survey reveals a cybersecurity landscape increasingly threatened by advanced, sophisticated attacks.

One in three companies reported that AI integration has expanded their attack surface, citing threats such as machine learning-powered phishing, deepfakes, and polymorphic malware. Despite these challenges, 42% of organizations lack formal policies regulating generative AI use, and 42% admit to insufficient employee training on the technology. Additionally, 36% revealed that staff use AI tools without supervision, heightening risks of data breaches and malicious exploitation.

A Moroccan cybersecurity official warned of the critical nature of the situation, stating, “Without strict governance, AI becomes a significant vulnerability.”
