Morocco Partners with Z.systems to Digitize 50,000 Retail Stores

Salé – September 30, 2025 – Morocco’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has signed a landmark agreement with Z.systems contractor Trom to modernize 50,000 neighborhood retail stores with advanced digital solutions. The initiative, unveiled during the seminar “All for Morocco’s Trade 2030”, is part of the Kingdom’s broader push to strengthen competitiveness and prepare for the 2030 World Cup.

Under the agreement, Z.systems will provide shopkeepers with digital tools enabling direct connections to major brands and distributors, loyalty program integration, and the adoption of a performance-linked e-wallet system. The program aims to enhance financial inclusion, improve supply chain efficiency, and ensure that small merchants remain vital players in Morocco’s evolving digital economy.

The Ministry emphasized that the project aligns with King Mohammed VI’s vision of positioning trade as both a driver of economic growth and a pillar of social stability. By equipping traditional retailers with modern technology, the initiative seeks to close the gap between small-scale stores and large supply chains while strengthening resilience in local commerce.

This deal complements a parallel agreement with WOLIZ Solution to expand digital payment access to 20,000 stores and extend the WOLIZ Pro app to 90,000 merchants nationwide. Together, the initiatives demonstrate Morocco’s commitment to building an inclusive, tech-enabled trade ecosystem capable of meeting both national development goals and global market challenges.
