GBM Bahrain promotes Ashesh Mukhopadhyay to General Manager as 35-year veteran Abdulla Ishaq retires

Gulf Business Machines has appointed Ashesh Mukhopadhyay as General Manager of its Bahrain operations, promoting him from Director of Sales and Technology. He succeeds Abdulla Ishaq, who retires after a 35-year career with the company.

Mukhopadhyay has been with GBM Bahrain for more than two decades and was credited with driving revenue growth and expanding the company’s portfolio across Bahrain’s public and private sector institutions during his tenure in sales leadership. In the General Manager role he will oversee GBM Bahrain’s overall strategy and operations.

GBM positions itself as an end-to-end digital solutions provider across the Gulf, working with government entities and enterprises on digital transformation programmes.

Editor’s Note: The appointment lands at a sensitive moment for Bahrain’s technology sector, with the conflict-related disruptions to Batelco and AWS infrastructure over recent weeks sharpening focus on digital resilience across the island. GBM’s institutional relationships with Bahrain’s public sector mean its leadership continuity has operational relevance beyond the commercial.
