Orange Egypt has appointed Mohamed Shebl as its new Chief Business Officer, succeeding Hesham Mahran, the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, who previously held the CBO role.
Shebl brings more than 25 years of experience in the ICT sector, having held senior leadership positions at Oracle, Vodafone Egypt, IBM and Gulf Bridge International. Since joining Orange Egypt, he has been credited with contributing to the operator’s evolution beyond traditional telecom services.
No further details on his remit or strategic priorities in the new role were disclosed.
Editor’s Note: The appointment consolidates enterprise and business services leadership at Orange Egypt at a moment when the operator is competing for B2B and enterprise digital services market share in an increasingly contested Egyptian market — alongside Telecom Egypt’s WE brand, e& Egypt and Vodafone Egypt. Shebl’s background across cloud, enterprise IT and wholesale connectivity at IBM, Oracle and Gulf Bridge positions him for the digital services push that all four operators are pursuing.
