Orange Money Jordan Waives Transfer Fees to Egypt with Cashback Offer

Orange Money Jordan has launched a zero-commission remittance offer for transfers to Orange Cash in Egypt, running until 30 June, in a move that targets the Jordan-Egypt corridor for mobile money users within the Orange OMEA network.

Under the terms of the offer, Orange Money customers in Jordan can send transfers to Orange Cash in Egypt with no transfer commission. Recipients in Egypt receive EGP 500 cashback on transfers of at least EGP 5,000, and EGP 700 cashback on transfers of at least EGP 10,000. The offer also includes a prize draw for round-trip flight tickets between Cairo and Amman for the customers who receive the highest transfer volumes during the promotional period.

Editor’s Note: The Jordan-Egypt remittance corridor is one of the more active in the Levant-North Africa region, with a significant Egyptian workforce population in Jordan. The Orange Money-Orange Cash tie-up leverages the Orange OMEA footprint to compete directly with traditional remittance channels on the corridor — the cashback and flight prize structure is clearly designed to drive volume and habit formation rather than just trial. MEA Tech Watch will be watching whether this promotional model converts into a sustained fee reduction or remains time-limited.
