Cassava plans entry into Egypt’s data centre market this year

Pan-African technology group Cassava Technologies is planning to enter Egypt’s data centre market this year, expanding its footprint in one of North Africa’s fastest-growing digital infrastructure hubs.

The move is part of Cassava’s broader strategy to scale its data centre and cloud ecosystem across the continent, as demand for localised data processing, cloud services, and AI infrastructure continues to rise. Egypt, with its strategic geographic position and growing digital economy, is increasingly attracting investment from regional and global infrastructure players.

Cassava’s planned entry is expected to focus on building or partnering on data centre capacity to serve enterprise, telecom, and hyperscale clients. The company has been actively investing in digital infrastructure, including fibre networks and cloud platforms, positioning itself as an integrated technology provider across Africa.

Egypt’s data centre market has been gaining momentum, supported by government initiatives to boost digital transformation, data sovereignty requirements, and increasing enterprise demand for reliable, low-latency services. New entrants are intensifying competition while contributing to overall ecosystem growth.

Cassava’s expansion signals continued confidence in Egypt’s role as a key gateway for digital infrastructure in North Africa and a strategic node connecting African, Middle Eastern, and European networks.

Editor’s Note:
Cassava’s planned entry highlights Egypt’s growing importance in Africa’s data centre race. As more regional players invest, the market is evolving into a competitive hub driven by connectivity, geography, and rising enterprise demand.
