Cloudera report finds 62% of Saudi leaders underutilising data for decision-making

A new report by Cloudera has revealed that 62% of business leaders in Saudi Arabia are not effectively using data to inform decision-making, highlighting a significant gap in enterprise data maturity.

The findings point to challenges in data integration, accessibility, and organisational alignment, which are limiting the ability of companies to fully leverage analytics and AI capabilities. Despite increasing investment in digital infrastructure, many organisations are still struggling to translate data into actionable insights.

The report also indicates that while awareness of data-driven strategies is high, execution remains inconsistent, with gaps in skills, governance frameworks, and technology adoption. This disconnect is preventing businesses from realising the full value of their data assets.

Saudi Arabia has been actively promoting data-driven transformation as part of its broader digital strategy, encouraging enterprises to adopt advanced analytics and AI technologies. However, the report suggests that organisational readiness continues to lag behind investment.

Addressing these challenges will be critical for companies looking to improve competitiveness and drive innovation in a rapidly evolving digital economy.

Editor’s Note:
Data utilisation gaps highlight a critical execution challenge in Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation journey. Bridging the divide between investment and insight will be key to unlocking real enterprise value from data and AI initiatives.
