Ooredoo Qatar has unveiled a new location analytics and intelligence solution called “Ooredoo Flow,” which leverages the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s (MCIT) TASMU Platform for smart city solutions. The platform is designed to provide organisations with anonymised, aggregated data using Ooredoo’s extensive 4G and 5G network coverage.
Ooredoo Flow processes over 200 million data points daily, capturing information from more than 4.3 million unique devices. The platform offers valuable insights into demographic trends, such as age, gender, and commuting patterns, enabling businesses to make informed decisions while respecting individual privacy.
Ooredoo emphasized that the platform adheres to the highest ethical standards and complies fully with Qatari laws and regulations.
“Our collaboration with MCIT ensures that Ooredoo Flow is not only a smart and secure solution but also a vital tool for advancing Qatar’s digital transformation,” said Sheikh Ali bin Jabor Al Thani, CEO of Ooredoo Qatar.
The TASMU Platform, launched in 2021, is a smart city solution built on Microsoft’s Azure cloud infrastructure. It serves as a one-stop platform for citizens, service providers, and other smart city stakeholders, driving the adoption of smart solutions. TASMU covers five key sectors: transport, healthcare, logistics, environment, and sports. Microsoft has described it as a digital marketplace that facilitates the coordination of public services across these sectors.
