Nepal Telecom (NT) has launched its services in the Palanta rural municipality in Kalikot by installing a new communication tower at Palanta-4. This tower is set to enhance connectivity in an area that had previously lacked telecommunication services.
Prem Singh Bista, head of the Kalikot Telecommunication Office, stated that the tower would provide services to around 10% of Palanta’s population. In the future, the service will expand to other rural municipalities in the region, including municipalities 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, as well as to Pachaljharana rural municipality.
Tilak Buda, a local representative, noted that the installation of the tower represents the final phase of Nepal Telecom’s expansion of 4G and 5G services in the area. With the tower now operational, 4G and 5G internet and telecommunication services are expected to be available soon, significantly improving the communication infrastructure for residents who previously had no access to such services.
Indra Bahadur, the chairman of the rural municipality, expressed optimism that the new tower would address the communication challenges faced by the local population, further improving connectivity and accessibility for the community.
