Morocco and Saudi Arabia Sign MoU to Enhance Government Digital Transition Cooperation

Morocco and Saudi Arabia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the field of government digital transition. The agreement was signed in Riyadh on Monday by Morocco’s Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, and Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdullah bin Amer Alswaha. The signing took place on the sidelines of the United Nations Internet Governance Forum, held from December 15-19 in Saudi Arabia.

This partnership aims to enhance coordination between the two countries by supporting research and innovation, adopting new technologies for e-government, sharing best practices, and developing specialized skills. During the meeting, Seghrouchni and Alswaha also discussed ways to deepen the technical partnership and strengthen the digital infrastructure necessary for a sustainable digital transition.

The 19th UN Internet Governance Forum, attended by member states of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), including Morocco, hosts over 10,000 participants from 160 countries, along with approximately 1,000 international speakers. The event features 300 thematic sessions and workshops focused on international trends and policies in Internet governance.
