On December 6, 2024, the Algerian Space Agency (ASAL) and the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in space science and technology. The ceremony, held in Algeria, was co-chaired by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa during his state visit to Algeria.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Azzedine Oussedik, Director General of ASAL, and Mr. Humbulani Mudau, Director General of SANSA, marking a significant step in strengthening ties between the two nations in the space sector. The agreement focuses on fostering cooperation for peaceful purposes, including the development of joint projects in space technologies and applications, as well as the exchange of expertise and information between the two agencies.
