Reboot Coding Institute Sets New Standards for Tech Education in Bahrain

Reboot Coding Institute (Reboot01), a leading coding school in Bahrain, is transforming the Kingdom’s tech landscape with its innovative educational model. Powered by the global platform 01Edu and launched in collaboration with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) and supported by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), Reboot is reshaping the regional tech ecosystem by cultivating highly skilled tech talent.

Reboot01’s comprehensive two-year program trains mid-to-senior-level full-stack developers, focusing on key areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and FinTech. In December, the institute reached a significant milestone, with nearly 400 students, 34% of whom are women. Reboot’s inclusive approach empowers individuals from diverse backgrounds to enter the tech industry, fostering curiosity, adaptability, and determination.

Aligned with Bahrain’s National Economic Recovery Plan and Vision 2030, Reboot bridges the gap between education and employment through partnerships with over 20 industry leaders. These collaborations provide students with access to paid internships, job opportunities, and industry-driven projects, ensuring that graduates are ready for the workforce.

Yanal Jallad, Managing Director of Reboot, expressed, “As Bahrain solidifies its position as a regional tech hub, Reboot is proud to contribute to this transformation. By cultivating a new generation of developers and fostering international partnerships, we are advancing the Kingdom’s digital economy and reinforcing its reputation as a hub for talent and opportunity.”

Recent partnerships include Swedish firm Raincode, which established a developer hub in Bahrain and plans to hire 80 Reboot-trained engineers by 2025. Additionally, Reboot joined forces with Bahrain FinTech Bay to launch the MENA Innovation Academy (MENA-IA), with its first course, ‘Artificial Intelligence in FinTech,’ starting on January 5th, led by a UC Berkeley professor.

Employers are increasingly recognizing the technical prowess of Reboot01 students, with many securing roles at leading companies like Raincode, ila Bank, Array Innovation, and Flooss before even completing their program. An assessment of Reboot students by Raincode, using the Alva Labs platform, showed that their technical proficiency surpassed European benchmarks.

Connor de Freene, Managing Director of Raincode, noted, “Reboot01 talents bring a fresh perspective and innovative mindset that aligns perfectly with the tech industry’s evolving needs. Their ability to tackle challenges and deliver results has made them invaluable contributors to our Bahrain hub’s success. We’re excited to further strengthen our collaboration with Reboot.”

In response to industry demands, Reboot recently expanded its curriculum to include Java specializations for the banking and healthcare sectors, as well as short courses in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Cloud DevOps. These programs prepare students to address complex challenges, such as building machine learning tools and obtaining cloud certifications for AWS, Oracle, and Azure platforms.

The selection process for Reboot01’s upcoming cohort will begin on January 12, 2025, offering aspiring developers the chance to join the next wave of Bahrain’s digital transformation.
