Boumediene Senoussi Appointed CEO of Djezzy, Paving the Way for Innovation in Algeria’s Telecom Sector

Boumediene Senoussi has been appointed as the new CEO of Djezzy, effective Sunday, April 20, replacing Mahieddine Allouche, who served in an interim role since August 2022. The appointment marks a significant shift in Djezzy’s strategy towards innovation and modernization in Algeria’s telecom industry.

The leadership transition was announced during a ceremony at the Fonds National d’Investissement (FNI) headquarters, with the presence of key officials, including Finance Minister Abdelkrim Bouzerd and Minister of Post and Telecommunications Sidali Zerrouki. The Ministry of Finance described the change as the beginning of a new chapter for Djezzy, emphasizing technological development, digital transformation, and improved competitiveness.

Minister Bouzerd praised Allouche’s 20-month leadership, highlighting his contributions to business continuity and stability. However, he urged Senoussi to focus on innovation to elevate Djezzy’s market position. Minister Zerrouki emphasized Senoussi’s technological expertise, especially as Algeria prepares to launch 5G services, and acknowledged Allouche’s role in the company’s restructuring and technological advancements.

Senoussi’s appointment signals a transformative phase for Djezzy, aligning with Algeria’s ambitions to modernize its telecom sector and reinforce Djezzy’s leadership within the industry.
