SLT-Mobitel reaffirmed its dedication to innovation and youth empowerment by hosting the grand finale of SLIoT Challenge 2025, Sri Lanka’s leading Internet of Things (IoT) competition, recently held at the University of Moratuwa. The event, sponsored by SLT-Mobitel and organised by the University of Moratuwa’s Computer Science and Engineering Department alongside the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka, gathered hundreds of students and professionals nationwide.
Participants competed across school, university, and open categories, showcasing cutting-edge IoT solutions aimed at solving real-world problems and accelerating Sri Lanka’s digital transformation. SLT-Mobitel facilitated preparatory activities including hands-on workshops on microcontrollers and IoT fundamentals, led by industry experts and university mentors, inspiring the next generation of tech innovators.
SLT-Mobitel Chairman Dr. Mothilal De Silva attended the awards ceremony to celebrate the talented finalists. In the School Category, Neuroverse from Galahitiyawa Central College took first place, followed by Sentinel from St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10 in second, and Senuka from R/Emb/Bodhiraja College in third. The University Category saw a clean sweep by University of Moratuwa teams: Zypher won first place, Dyson Sphere second, and Aqua Guard third. In the Open Category, Smartcare from Kalutara claimed first place, with Tech Tanks from Gampaha and TeraNode from Galle securing second and third places respectively.
