Zain KSA has commenced the initial phase of its commercial rollout of 5G Standalone (5G-SA) services using the low-band 600 MHz spectrum. The full-scale launch is planned for Riyadh and Jeddah in Q4 2025, with phased expansion to cover major and secondary cities and connecting roads across the Kingdom.
By utilizing the 30 MHz of 600 MHz spectrum acquired in the November 2024 CST auction, Zain KSA aims to set a new benchmark for nationwide 5G coverage, delivering uninterrupted, high-performance connectivity to customers.
Eng. Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Al Nujaidi, Zain KSA CTO, highlighted the deployment as a significant milestone aligned with Saudi Arabia’s digital ambitions. The expanded 5G coverage supports advanced digital services such as HD video calls, cloud applications, ultra-responsive mobile gaming, and IoT innovation.
This deployment lays the groundwork for future 5G-SA capabilities, including Voice over New Radio (VoNR), Reduced Capability (RedCap) device support, and Network Slicing, positioning Zain KSA as a key driver of digital transformation and innovation under Saudi Vision 2030.
