Rack Centre and TelCables Nigeria Partner to Enhance West Africa’s Cloud and Network Infrastructure

West African Tier III carrier and cloud-neutral data center Rack Centre has signed a strategic colocation agreement with TelCables Nigeria, a subsidiary of Angola Cables. This partnership enables TelCables Nigeria to deploy its high-capacity network and cloud infrastructure, connecting four international subsea cable systems—SACS, MONET, SEBRAS, and EllaLink—directly into Rack Centre’s carrier ecosystem.

TelCables Nigeria is establishing diverse, redundant dark-fibre rings within Rack Centre to ensure uninterrupted network performance. Customers benefit from scalable Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Content Delivery Network (CDN) offerings, all within Rack Centre’s data sovereign environment, with payments available in Nigerian naira.

The collaboration provides direct on-ramps to major cloud providers including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, supporting hybrid and multi-cloud deployments alongside dedicated internet access, IP transit, and remote Internet Exchange (IX) peering. It also offers low-latency routes connecting West Africa directly to Latin America—the only such direct path—as well as optimized links to Europe and the USA.

Rack Centre’s 13.5MW data center campus, featuring the new LGS2 facility with an efficient Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.35 and powered by sustainable energy, hosts over 70 carriers, ISPs, and network operators. Its infrastructure includes N+2 cooling redundancy, integrated building management, and AI-ready high-density racks.

This partnership delivers resilient, low-latency southbound connectivity, reducing risks of subsea cable outages along West Africa’s coast and fueling next-generation cloud services across the continent.
