SLT-MOBITEL, Sri Lanka’s National ICT Solutions Provider, reaffirmed its commitment to innovation and youth empowerment by sponsoring the successful conclusion of the SLIoT Challenge 2025, the country’s leading Internet of Things (IoT) competition. The grand finale and awards ceremony were held at the University of Moratuwa, bringing together hundreds of students and professionals showcasing cutting-edge IoT solutions addressing real-world challenges.
Organized by the University of Moratuwa’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in collaboration with the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL), and sponsored by SLT-MOBITEL, the event featured school, university, and open categories. SLT-MOBITEL played a key role in preparing participants through workshops on microcontrollers and IoT basics, fostering technical skills and innovation.
SLT-MOBITEL Chairman Dr. Mothilal De Silva and senior officials congratulated the winners for their creativity and technical excellence. Top honors in the School Category went to Neuroverse from Galahitiyawa Central College. The University Category was dominated by University of Moratuwa teams, with Zypher, Dyson Sphere, and Aqua Guard taking the top three spots. In the Open Category, Smartcare from Kalutara secured first place, followed by Tech Tanks and TeraNode.
The SLIoT Challenge 2025 highlighted Sri Lanka’s growing pool of tech talent and SLT-MOBITEL’s vital role in driving the nation’s digital transformation through IoT innovation.
