Jumia (NYSE: JMIA), Africa’s leading e-commerce platform, has inaugurated its largest integrated warehouse in Egypt, located on Cairo’s Suez Road. The facility spans over 27,000 square meters and aims to enhance storage and distribution efficiency, particularly in underserved regions like Upper Egypt. The launch was attended by Egypt’s Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Communications Dr. Amr Talaat, and Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber, highlighting the government’s support for Jumia’s investment.
The warehouse is expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs, strengthen logistics capabilities, and support local manufacturers. Prime Minister Madbouly praised Jumia’s commitment and its role in advancing Egypt’s digital transformation, infrastructure development, and youth employment.
Abdellatif Olama, CEO of Jumia Egypt, described the warehouse as a milestone reflecting Jumia’s strategic focus on Egypt and its pan-African operations. He emphasized the facility’s role in improving customer service, fostering innovation, and driving economic growth in the region.
This investment follows Jumia’s recent expansion in Africa, including a new warehouse in Ivory Coast, and complements Egypt’s position as a major tech hub supporting digital and logistics solutions continent-wide.
