AMMAN — The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) released its Q1 2025 report showing continued growth in Jordan’s broadband subscriptions, data consumption, and mobile connectivity. While fixed voice subscriptions declined slightly by 1.9% to about 485,000, fixed-line call volume rose by 1% to 9.8 million minutes.
Mobile broadband subscriptions grew 3% to 8.03 million, with prepaid users representing 68%. Mobile voice-and-data lines accounted for 83% of subscriptions, and mobile voice traffic reached approximately 6.7 billion minutes, mostly domestic. SMS volume surged 81.5% to 423 million messages.
Fixed broadband subscriptions increased 2.5% to 818,000, with fiber-optic (FTTH) connections making up 74%. Fixed broadband data usage rose 13% to 1.4 billion gigabytes, with average monthly consumption up 10.4% to 575 GB.
Notably, 5G mobile subscriptions reached 225,996 in the first quarter. Leased line subscriptions also increased by 17.1% to 24,600.
Mobile penetration stood at 68% of the total population and 105% among those aged 15+, reflecting Jordan’s advancing digital landscape.
