Al Akhawayn University and Deloitte Morocco Launch Specialized Master’s in Cybersecurity

Al Akhawayn University (AUI) has partnered with Deloitte Morocco Cyber Center (DMCC) to launch an 18-month specialized master’s degree in cybersecurity, training 30 experts per class. The program, starting in September, combines academic immersion with practical experience to address Morocco’s cybersecurity skills shortage and bolster digital sovereignty.

Aligned with AUI’s proactive collaboration strategy, the curriculum is co-developed with Deloitte, featuring technical workshops, cyberattack simulations, and industry internships. Prof. Salah AlMajeed, Dean of the School of Science and Engineering, emphasized that the program’s design reflects business realities and market needs, preparing graduates to counter cyber threats and drive innovation.

This initiative builds on AUI’s established university-industry partnership model, where companies influence curriculum and recruit talent early. The master’s program complements AUI’s existing AI and Big Data offerings, supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure inaugurated in 2024.

Beyond education, AUI enhances cybersecurity R&D with international collaborations, focusing on critical infrastructure protection, ethical AI, and predictive risk analysis. The university is also leading an EU-funded project on higher education innovation.
