Oman Launches Space Accelerators Programme to Boost Local Space Solutions and Innovation

Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has launched a new national initiative, the Space Accelerators Programme, aimed at empowering local startups to develop innovative space solutions and services. The one-year programme focuses on stimulating entrepreneurship, attracting investment, and supporting localisation and technology transfer within Oman’s space sector.

Implemented by Omani company Ankaa Space and Technology Company in partnership with UK-based accelerator specialist Exotopic, the programme will support ten startups in creating commercially viable space technologies. Key focus areas include satellite communications, Earth observation, geospatial analytics, navigation, artificial intelligence, drones, Internet of Things (IoT), spacecraft simulation, and advanced computing.

The initiative offers a comprehensive training curriculum covering both technical and commercial skills to enhance local entrepreneurial capabilities. The top three startups will receive incentives aimed at ensuring their long-term sustainability and growth.

This programme aligns with Oman’s broader goals of economic diversification and technological progress, strengthening national capabilities in space innovation.
