Indosat’s mobile brand IM3 has introduced SATSPAM (Satuan Anti Scam dan SPAM), an automated digital protection service integrated directly into the IM3 network to combat spam and scam threats. Unlike traditional tools requiring manual setup, SATSPAM activates automatically with any active data package, filtering and alerting users in real time about suspicious calls and messages.
The launch event featured a public parade in Jakarta’s Thamrin Car Free Day alongside journalist Najwa Shihab, promoting the #NomorModusNoMore campaign aimed at raising awareness about digital fraud. SATSPAM allows users to safely answer calls and read messages without fear of scams, and users can report suspicious numbers via the myIM3 app.
SATSPAM offers two protection tiers:
- SATSPAM BASIC: Automatically enabled for all IM3 prepaid users with an active data package, providing basic detection of suspicious calls and SMS without additional setup. New users can access this feature by activating an IM3 starter pack at Rp35,000.
- SATSPAM+: Designed for enhanced protection, this tier classifies incoming calls as spam, scam, or trusted, detects malicious SMS links, and sends weekly threat reports through the app. It is available for prepaid users with data packages of Rp50,000 or more and for IM3 Platinum postpaid users with app permission.
Bilal Kazmi, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison’s Director & Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted SATSPAM as part of the AIvolusi5G initiative—a secure, AI-powered, and 5G-enabled network designed to protect users in Indonesia’s digital space. Najwa Shihab underscored the severity of digital scams in Indonesia, citing financial losses of Rp476 billion between November 2024 and January 2025, and praised SATSPAM as a significant step toward inclusive digital safety and literacy.
