Ericsson and Global CSPs Finalize Aduna Joint Venture to Advance Network APIs

Ericsson has confirmed the completion of equity investments by 12 global communication service providers (CSPs) into its subsidiary Aduna, officially forming a 50:50 joint venture. Aduna, launched in September last year, focuses on combining and selling aggregated network Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) worldwide.

Under the agreement, Ericsson retains 50% ownership, while the remaining 50% is held equally among the participating CSPs: AT&T, Bharti Airtel, Deutsche Telekom, KDDI, Orange, Reliance Jio, Singtel, Telefónica, Telstra, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Vodafone. Beyond capital contributions, shareholders provide strategic advantages through operator relationships, deep industry expertise, and connections with the global developer community.

Ericsson’s contribution also includes its global network platform, which will serve as the foundation for Aduna’s API products and services. The venture aims to streamline and scale API adoption by enabling developers to tap into telecom capabilities globally.

Aduna CEO Anthony Bartolo described the closing as “another important step” for the company, noting that in just ten months, Aduna has created “an impressive ecosystem” involving top names in telecom and ICT. He emphasized that the milestone will accelerate efforts to drive global adoption of network APIs, attract more telecom operators to join, and enhance the developer experience.
