Engineer Md Mamunur Rashid has assumed the role of Managing Director at Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL), effective Sunday. He previously served as the company’s Deputy Managing Director.
Born on 25 February 1967 in Mymensingh, Rashid completed his schooling under the Dhaka Board before earning degrees in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from BUET, Telecommunications from Waseda University in Japan, and Business Administration from IBA, University of Dhaka.
He began his public service career through the 13th BCS (Telecom Cadre), joining the former Bangladesh Telegraph & Telephone Board in 1994 as an Assistant Divisional Engineer. Over the years, he advanced through positions including Sub-Divisional Engineer (2002), Divisional Engineer (2010), Director (2019), and Principal (2024), holding both technical and managerial responsibilities.
Rashid has represented Bangladesh in numerous professional trainings, meetings, and conferences in Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Australia, France, Austria, and Switzerland, enhancing his expertise and global outlook.
