Jazz Expands High-Speed Connectivity Across Pakistan Through USF Partnership

Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital operator, has reaffirmed its commitment to bridging the digital divide by extending high-speed connectivity to millions of people in underserved and remote regions through its partnership with the Universal Service Fund (USF). The initiative aims to promote digital inclusion and ensure equal access to communication services across the country.

Since joining the USF program in 2007, Jazz has significantly accelerated efforts from 2018 under the Broadband for Sustainable Development (BSD) and Next Generation BSD (NGBSD) projects. To date, the company has completed 24 projects, rolling out 730 new sites and upgrading 814 existing ones, bringing 4G access to over 10.4 million people in more than 4,900 previously unconnected areas.

Connectivity has been extended to major national highways such as M3, M4, M5, and M14, and has also supported tourism and community development in iconic destinations including Kumrat Valley, Katora Lake, Lake Saiful Malook, and Lulusar Lake.

In 2025, Jazz further strengthened its digital inclusion efforts by securing five new USF projects to expand connectivity to nearly one million people across 400 villages in 10 districts spanning South, Central, and North Pakistan.

Syed Zaheer Mehdi, Group Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer at Jazz, emphasized that connectivity equals empowerment: “Every connection we enable opens a world of possibilities for education, healthcare, commerce, and community. Our mission is to ensure that no one is left behind in Pakistan’s digital future.”

Through this ongoing collaboration with USF, Jazz continues to drive its vision of a Digital Pakistan, positioning connectivity as the cornerstone of empowerment, progress, and inclusive growth nationwide.
