Saudi Arabia Launches Digital Nusuk Umrah Service for International Pilgrims

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has introduced the Nusuk Umrah service, a new digital platform that enables international pilgrims to apply directly for Umrah visas and book their trips online without intermediaries, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The platform allows users to design their journeys by selecting full packages or booking individual services such as visas, accommodation, transport, and guided tours. Featuring a user-friendly interface in seven languages, Nusuk integrates with government systems and supports multiple payment options to improve accessibility.

The initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader Vision 2030 strategy, which seeks to strengthen the Kingdom’s role as a global religious and cultural hub while diversifying its economy beyond fossil fuels. The platform is also designed to enrich the pilgrim experience and enhance service quality.

In July, Saudi Arabia further eased restrictions by allowing Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) citizens and residents to perform Umrah year-round with permits issued through the Nusuk app. Eligible pilgrims can use various visa types, including Umrah visas from Nusuk, transit visas issued in partnership with Saudia Airlines and Flynas, and tourist visas via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal.

The launch follows the resumption of international Umrah visa issuance after the conclusion of this year’s Hajj season, reflecting the Kingdom’s push to expand religious tourism and welcome more Muslims worldwide.
