Saudi Arabia has officially launched Humain Chat, an Arabic-language AI application developed entirely in the Kingdom. The app, introduced on Tuesday, is the first release from Humain, a Public Investment Fund-owned artificial intelligence company launched in May by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to advance Arabic large language models and establish Saudi Arabia as a global AI hub.
Humain Chat is powered by ALLAM 34B, an advanced Arabic AI model designed and built in Saudi Arabia by a team of more than 120 specialists, including 35 PhD-level researchers. The model is trained on one of the largest Arabic datasets ever assembled and refined with input from 600 domain experts and 250 evaluators. It offers unmatched fluency in Arabic, covering dialects from classical to regional variations, and is also available in English.
The application is available on iOS, Android, and web browsers, with plans to expand access across other Arabic-speaking countries. Beyond everyday chat capabilities, Humain Chat is positioned as a sovereign AI innovation, deeply aligned with Middle Eastern culture, Islamic values, and local linguistic nuances.
Humain CEO Tareq Amin described the launch as a historic milestone: “We are proving that globally competitive technologies can be rooted in our own language, infrastructure, and values — built in Saudi Arabia by Saudi talent. This is just the beginning of a journey to serve the Kingdom, the Arabic-speaking world, and beyond.”
The rollout reflects Saudi Arabia’s ambition to accelerate innovation and position itself at the forefront of AI development for both regional and global audiences.
