Orange and Synamedia Partner to Launch Multi-CDN Streaming Solution Across Middle East and Africa

Orange has announced a strategic partnership with Synamedia to deliver a powerful multi-CDN streaming solution designed to expand content reach and ensure low-latency, high-quality delivery across the Middle East and Africa. The collaboration combines Orange’s extensive CDN network with Synamedia’s Quortex Switch platform to provide a flexible, secure, and scalable distribution model.

Set to launch in March 2025, Quortex Switch enables API-based integration and advanced configuration, allowing customers to extend their distribution capabilities without altering existing infrastructure or disrupting current CDN relationships. The SaaS-based solution leverages the latest content steering standards to simplify multi-CDN deployments, balancing traffic dynamically and routing users to optimal sources while enabling midstream switching for uninterrupted viewing experiences.

This innovation arrives as Africa’s streaming market is projected to grow by 50% by 2030. With one of the most reliable CDN networks in the Middle East and Africa, Orange is positioned to help international content providers expand cost-effectively and in line with local regulations, gaining a foothold in high-growth and underserved markets.

Cédric Hardouin, Vice President of CDN and Edge at Orange Wholesale, emphasized that the alliance will allow CDN customers to harness Orange’s strengths in the region while benefiting from Synamedia’s multi-CDN capabilities. Meanwhile, Ed Allfrey, Managing Director at Synamedia Video Network, described the deal as the company’s first partnership with a telecom CDN provider, highlighting how it extends scalable, reliable CDN access to emerging markets with Orange’s proven low-latency and compliance-driven infrastructure.

Orange and Synamedia’s partnership marks a significant step in shaping the future of streaming in the Middle East and Africa, creating new opportunities for content providers to scale globally while maintaining service quality and resilience.
