Doha – Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has released the 2024 Annual Achievements Report for the TASMU Accelerator, underscoring its role as a key driver of digital transformation and innovation under Qatar’s Digital Agenda 2030. The program has quickly evolved into a global launchpad for startups, fostering international collaboration and advancing economic growth.
The report highlights the success of the Accelerator’s first two cohorts, which attracted more than 1,185 applications from 78 countries. Startups that joined the program have since achieved a combined valuation of QAR 2.92 billion, generated QAR 479 million in sales, and secured QAR 228 million in funding.
In addition to strong financial performance, TASMU-supported startups have won 11 prestigious awards, including nine international recognitions. They have also piloted projects with over 60 organizations, creating QAR 137 million in new business opportunities. Integration with Qatar’s ecosystem has been central to the program, with more than 80 high-level meetings held with institutions such as Qatar Airways, Ooredoo, and Sidra Medicine.
The Accelerator also focuses on nurturing talent and knowledge-sharing. Over 2,000 hours of mentorship and 270 hours of workshops have been delivered by global experts, alongside training opportunities for 370 university students. Partnerships with 49 Qatari entities have further ensured startups are embedded within the local market.
With an emphasis on high-impact sectors like healthcare, logistics, environment, and tourism, TASMU Accelerator has cemented its position as a gateway for global startups seeking to expand into the MENA region, while advancing Qatar’s ambition to become a global hub for digital innovation.
