Egypt has taken a significant step in advancing its artificial intelligence agenda with the official launch of Ai Everything Middle East & Africa Egypt, hosted at the historic Sultan Hussein Kamel Palace in Cairo. Organized by GITEX GLOBAL and Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in partnership with ITIDA, the event gathered senior officials, global tech leaders, startups, and innovators.
The launch paves the way for Ai Everything MEA Egypt 2026, set for 11–12 February 2026 at the NCIEC in Cairo. The event is part of Egypt’s drive to generate $42.7 billion in annual AI value by 2030 and position Cairo as a global hub for AI collaboration, in line with the country’s National AI Strategy 2025–2030.
Key areas highlighted include outsourced digital services, semiconductor and electronic design, public sector transformation, startup innovation, and attracting global investment. ITIDA CEO Eng. Ahmed Elzaher underscored that AI is now a “core driver of economic and societal transformation,” while Egypt’s Minister of Communications Dr. Amr Talaat noted that since 2019, Egypt has advanced 46 places in the global AI Readiness Index. The updated national strategy focuses on computing resources, data governance, AI-enabled growth, digital skills, public awareness, and regulation.
Panel discussions featured insights from IBM, HPE, Deloitte, WideBot AI, Intella, and Plug & Play Tech Centre, addressing startup growth, public-private partnerships, and global competitiveness. IBM showcased its watsonx platform’s role in Egypt’s digital transformation, while HPE highlighted Egypt’s energy-efficient AI systems. Egyptian startups also shared their international expansion plans following successful funding rounds.
Ai Everything MEA Egypt 2026 will host participants from 60 countries, covering topics from next-gen infrastructure and responsible AI to cybersecurity, fintech, digital health, and startup-investor networking, reinforcing Cairo’s role as the AI innovation hub for the Middle East and Africa.
