Nepal Telecom has officially launched 4G internet services in Chankheli Rural Municipality of Humla district, marking a significant milestone for one of the country’s most remote regions. The expansion also covers Tajakot, Adanchuli, and Sarkegad rural municipalities in Humla, Soru rural municipality in Mugu, and adjoining areas of Bajura and Mugu districts.
Local residents welcomed the development, noting its immediate impact on essential services. Harka Budha, a health worker at the Melchham Health Post, said the availability of 4G had already accelerated their performance and improved service delivery.
Pyarilal Shahi, Chairman of Chankheli Rural Municipality, expressed confidence that the service would open new opportunities in education, healthcare, and communications, while helping integrate the lower belt of Humla district into Nepal’s digital network.
The introduction of high-speed mobile internet is expected to enhance connectivity, reduce isolation, and provide residents with greater access to digital resources and opportunities.
