Algeria Launches National Technology Hub to Drive Digital Transformation

Algeria’s National Investment Fund (FNI) has announced the creation of a major technology hub in partnership with four leading ICT companies: Optimum Télécom Algérie (Djezzy), IT-DEV Spa, Inet Spa, and Smart Test Spa. The initiative, unveiled under the National Digital Transformation Strategy 2030, represents a bold step toward cementing Algeria’s position as a digital leader.

The agreement was signed by FNI CEO Salah Labani and executives from the partner companies—Boumediene Senouci (Optimum Télécom Algérie), Boudjemaa Aouaroun (IT-DEV Spa), Fella Gaouar (Inet Spa), and Djalal Saidouni (Smart Test Spa). The hub will initially focus on modernizing Algeria’s financial sector while laying the foundation for broader digital transformation across state institutions and enterprises.

FNI emphasized that this move marks a turning point in its role, expanding from funding strategic projects to actively shaping Algeria’s digital ecosystem. The hub will serve as both a strategic investment platform and an innovation enabler, pooling resources, infrastructure, and expertise to deliver impactful digital solutions.

Beyond Algeria, the hub aims to position the country as a regional and international digital powerhouse by exporting advanced ICT services and solutions. The initiative will also foster a stronger entrepreneurial environment, supporting SMEs and startups in telecommunications and innovation, thereby embedding Algeria into global technology value chains.

By driving institutional modernization, encouraging innovation, and stimulating investment in ICT, this landmark project underscores Algeria’s commitment to a digitally empowered and competitive future.
