Starlink Expands Satellite Internet Availability to Jordan

Starlink, the satellite internet service operated by SpaceX, has announced that its network is now available in Jordan, adding the country to its growing list of service areas in the Middle East. Jordan follows Oman, Qatar, and Yemen, where Starlink has recently gone live.

The expansion was confirmed through a company social media post, sparking celebration among regional technology vendors. “Congratulations to the licensing team and SpaceX for making progress here,” commented Jimmy Grewal, Managing Director of UAE-based Elcome, on LinkedIn. “Which country will be next?”

The development comes just weeks after Oman’s telecom regulator approved Starlink’s operations. According to Starlink’s service map, Kuwait and Bahrain are expected to gain access later this year, while Saudi Arabia and the UAE remain “pending regulatory approval.”

In the UAE, documents from the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority confirm that Starlink was granted a licence in 2024 specifically for maritime satellite internet services, valid for around 10 years.

With Jordan now added, Starlink continues its push to expand connectivity in the Middle East, where demand for high-speed, low-latency internet is driving regulatory approvals and partnerships.
