Cambridge Mobile Telematics Expands AI-Powered Mobility Platform in Saudi Arabia with AWS Outposts

Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT), the world’s largest telematics service provider, has announced a major expansion of its AI-powered DriveWell Fusion® mobility platform in Saudi Arabia, marking one of its most ambitious international launches. The initiative runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS) using AWS Outposts and AWS Direct Connect, enabling CMT to meet the Kingdom’s strict data residency, performance, and security standards.

The deployment makes CMT the first telematics provider to use AWS Outposts in Saudi Arabia, providing a hybrid architecture that processes data locally while connecting securely to the AWS Bahrain Region. This structure ensures low-latency analytics, high-performance scalability, and readiness for a seamless transition to the upcoming AWS Region in Saudi Arabia in 2026.

CMT also announced a strategic collaboration with Najm for Insurance Services, launching a nationwide telematics initiative to reduce accidents and death rates by transforming how driving risk is measured and managed. The program directly supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals to enhance road safety and public well-being.

“CMT has rapidly expanded worldwide, and our growth in Saudi Arabia represents one of our most ambitious and impactful launches,” said William V. Powers, Co-Founder and CEO of CMT. “In Saudi Arabia, that means delivering AI-powered insights that reduce crashes, protect lives, and help make roads safer for millions.”

CMT’s DriveWell Fusion® platform uses artificial intelligence and sensor fusion to provide real-time insights into driving behavior, helping insurers, mobility companies, and governments improve safety outcomes. Globally, CMT’s solutions have already helped prevent over 100,000 crashes.

AWS leaders also praised the collaboration. Amr Masri, Country Leader for AWS in Saudi Arabia, called CMT’s hybrid deployment a “standout example” of how AWS enables customers to deliver mission-driven innovation with long-term impact.

Headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, CMT partners with insurers, automakers, mobility companies, and governments worldwide. Its Saudi expansion signals a critical milestone in combining AI, cloud infrastructure, and regulatory alignment to drive digital transformation in mobility and public safety.
