Amman – Since its establishment in 1995 as Jordan’s first mobile operator, Zain Jordan has transformed the Kingdom’s telecommunications sector, building cutting-edge infrastructure, enabling digital transformation, and becoming a strategic driver of the national economy. Over nearly three decades, the company has invested more than $5 billion in strengthening Jordan’s digital ecosystem.
Pioneering Telecom and Digital Services
From its beginnings with voice and SMS, Zain rapidly expanded into broadband and fiber, consistently introducing the latest technologies. It was the first operator to launch 4G in 2014 and brought 5G to Jordan three years ago, reshaping connectivity standards for individuals and businesses. Its services now span FTTH, FTTB, FTTR, mobile, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and enterprise solutions under the Zain Business umbrella.
Zain also operates The Bunker, a Tier III Uptime Institute Gold-certified data and disaster recovery center at King Hussein Business Park. Recognized with the Middle East Excellence Award 2025, The Bunker represents a regional benchmark for advanced cloud and digital solutions.
Driving Entrepreneurship and Innovation
In 2014, Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania inaugurated the Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC), now a cornerstone of Jordan’s startup ecosystem. Over the past decade, ZINC has supported 246 startups, hosted 6,000+ events, and engaged 360,000 youth and entrepreneurs, in collaboration with 142 partners. With eight branches, including five in universities, ZINC continues to nurture talent and creativity.
The company also launched Zain Esports Jo in 2020, bolstering Jordan’s presence in global eSports, and expanded its innovation footprint with Dezain Space for local designers and Zain Studio to support entrepreneurs with creative production services.
Commitment to Sustainability and Society
Sustainability is embedded in Zain’s strategy. The company leads initiatives in climate action, biodiversity, resource efficiency, women and youth empowerment, and inclusion of people with disabilities. It has also supported education, healthcare, sports, agriculture, and food security.
Culturally, Zain is a long-term supporter of national celebrations, including Jordan’s Independence Day festivities, and has forged enduring partnerships with leading organizations across the Kingdom.
Recognition and Awards
Zain’s impact has been recognized at the highest levels, including the Silver Jubilee Medal and the Al Hussein Decoration for Distinguished Giving, awarded by His Majesty King Abdullah II. Today, with 74 retail outlets, Zain remains close to its customers while setting industry standards.
