Riyadh — Saudi telecom operator stc has partnered with Huawei KSA to deploy Self-Optimized Networks (SON), advancing the Kingdom’s telecom modernization and digital transformation in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
The initiative introduces AI-driven automation, real-time adaptability, and intelligent optimization into stc’s network operations, enabling smarter, more efficient services and strengthening the infrastructure needed for next-generation telecom innovation.
Ahsen Ali, National Manager of Huawei’s Service Optimization Team, highlighted the deployment as a milestone reflecting both organizations’ commitment to accelerating regional digital transformation. The project also benefited from the contributions of Yahya Al-Gaihiab and Fahad Badeghaish, MBA, who played key roles in implementation.
By embedding SON capabilities, stc aims to enhance service quality, reliability, and operational efficiency, while reducing complexity and human intervention in network management. This step underscores the rising importance of AI and automation in telecom networks, positioning Saudi Arabia at the forefront of innovation in the sector.
