Zain Bahrain Becomes First Telecom Operator in the Kingdom to Achieve ISO 37301 Certification

Manama, Bahrain — Zain Bahrain has achieved the ISO 37301:2021 Certification, becoming the first telecommunications operator in the Kingdom to receive this globally recognized standard for Compliance Management Systems (CMS). The certification underscores Zain Bahrain’s commitment to regulatory excellence, integrity, and robust governance across its operations.

ISO 37301 provides a structured framework for organizations to establish, implement, and improve compliance systems that promote accountability, transparency, and ethical conduct. The certification highlights Zain Bahrain’s alignment with international best practices, enabling it to effectively manage compliance risks, enhance corporate credibility, and safeguard stakeholder trust.

Nadia Aqeel, Chief Legal, Regulatory & Compliance Officer at Zain Bahrain, said:
“Adhering to the highest compliance standards drives long-term growth, creates value, and bolsters investor confidence. This ISO 37301 certification reflects Zain Bahrain’s dedication to global best practices and supports our ‘4WARD–Progress with Purpose’ strategic and sustainable growth ambitions.”

The certification is part of Zain Group’s Regulatory Compliance Program (RCP) launched in 2022 to unify compliance frameworks across all its operations. The RCP introduces standardized tools and digital systems for regulatory adherence, documentation, and monitoring. It has already been successfully rolled out in Kuwait and Bahrain, with implementation underway in Iraq, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and South Sudan, as well as within ZainTECH, the group’s enterprise services arm.

By achieving ISO 37301, Zain Bahrain reinforces its leadership in corporate governance and compliance excellence, setting a new industry benchmark for ethical operations and sustained business performance.
