AMD and Kerno Launch ‘Made in the Emirates’ Initiative to Drive AI and Cloud Innovation

AMD has entered a strategic collaboration with UAE-based enterprise infrastructure provider Kerno to accelerate the deployment of advanced AI and cloud infrastructure across GCC markets, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Central to this partnership is the “Made in the Emirates” initiative, under which AMD-based solutions will be co-developed and validated locally in the UAE.

The initiative will focus on creating and certifying enterprise-grade AI and cloud systems powered by AMD Instinct AI Accelerators, AMD EPYC CPUs, and the AMD ROCm open software stack. As AMD’s regional OEM/ODM partner, Kerno will gain early access to AMD’s product roadmap, as well as tools for sales enablement and solution development.

Christopher Caswell, Co-founder and CEO of Kerno, said: “The ‘Made in the Emirates’ initiative reflects our shared commitment to strengthening the UAE’s position as a hub for advanced computing and AI infrastructure. By combining AMD’s high-performance platforms with Kerno’s regional engineering and manufacturing expertise, we are creating enterprise solutions designed, built, and supported in the Emirates — empowering governments and businesses across the GCC to innovate with confidence.”

The collaboration also includes plans to establish a joint testing and integration lab in the UAE, along with the potential creation of an AI Competency Center to facilitate strategic customer engagements and regional AI adoption.

Zaid Ghattas, General Manager for AMD in the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa, emphasized: “AMD is committed to empowering its partners in the Middle East to achieve leadership performance and scale with cutting-edge AI infrastructure. This partnership enhances our local presence in the UAE and strengthens our ability to deliver enterprise AI and cloud solutions while supporting our customers’ growth.”
