Saudi Arabia’s GO Telecommunications Group has inaugurated its first Artificial Intelligence Hub (GO AI Hub) in Pakistan, marking a major milestone in Saudi-Pakistan digital cooperation. The launch ceremony in Islamabad was attended by Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, National Coordinator SIFC Lt Gen Sarfaraz Ahmed, and GO Group CEO Yahya bin Saleh Al-Mansour.
The initiative aims to strengthen bilateral collaboration in AI research, digital capacity building, and technology co-creation. By fostering knowledge exchange and skill development, the GO AI Hub is set to empower Pakistani professionals, entrepreneurs, and freelancers with new opportunities to engage directly with Saudi enterprises.
Minister Shaza Fatima described the project as a sustainable digital bridge between the two countries — not a one-time investment. “Through this hub, Pakistani freelancers can offer their services to Saudi companies remotely,” she said, noting that the initiative would be followed by major investments in data infrastructure to support Pakistan’s expanding digital ecosystem.
She added that Pakistan is already seeing growth in AI innovation, digital talent, and tech investments, emphasizing that the 17 new agreements recently signed between the two nations in the IT sector will further boost collaboration.
Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki highlighted that GO Group’s successful experience with its Silicon Valley AI Hub laid the foundation for bringing this vision to Pakistan, expressing optimism for further projects that would deepen Saudi-Pakistani strategic ties.
GO Group CEO Yahya bin Saleh Al-Mansour called the Islamabad launch “a new chapter in Saudi-Pakistan cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and ICT development.” He reaffirmed the group’s commitment to investing in data centres and cybersecurity infrastructure, inviting Pakistani businesses and institutions to collaborate through the GO AI Hub to explore AI-led opportunities across the Saudi market.
The hub will act as a regional enabler for digital transformation, supporting Pakistan’s ambition to become a hub for AI innovation and remote tech services in South Asia.
