Cairo Airport Launches AI Assistant “Maryam” to Enhance Passenger Experience

Cairo, October 28, 2025 — Cairo International Airport has officially launched “Maryam,” an AI-powered virtual assistant developed by the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN) in collaboration with Orange Egypt. The initiative marks a major step in Egypt’s digital transformation journey, offering travelers a smarter and more interactive airport experience.

Available in both Arabic and English, “Maryam” helps passengers access flight schedules, travel and arrival procedures, facility locations, and transportation options—including taxis, limousines, and nearby tourist destinations. The assistant operates through Smart Interactive Devices (SIDs) installed throughout the airport, ensuring that travelers receive instant, accurate, and multilingual information.

Eng. Aiman Arab, Chairman of EHCAAN, said: “The launch of ‘Ask Maryam’ at Cairo International Airport is a milestone in our journey toward full digital transformation. This initiative reflects our commitment to adopting cutting-edge smart solutions that enhance the passenger experience and strengthen the global competitiveness of Egyptian airports.”

EHCAAN plans to expand “Maryam” to other Egyptian airports, beginning with Sphinx International Airport, coinciding with the Grand Egyptian Museum’s opening. The initiative aligns with Egypt’s national digital transformation strategy, aiming to introduce a new generation of smart airport services that combine convenience, innovation, and operational efficiency.

By integrating AI-driven technologies into airport operations, Egypt is reinforcing its role as a regional leader in smart infrastructure and digital innovation within the aviation sector.
