Batelco Partners with Ericsson to Expand 5G Coverage Across Bahrain

Ericsson has renewed its long-standing partnership with Batelco by Beyon to extend the operator’s 5G coverage throughout Bahrain. The agreement, signed during the Gateway Gulf Investment Forum 2025, will see Ericsson deploy its latest Radio Access Network (RAN) technologies across residential areas, hospitality venues, commercial districts, and industrial zones including Diyar AlMuharraq, Salman City, Bahrain Bay, and Ras Zuwaied.

Under the deal, Ericsson will provide advanced RAN solutions featuring enhanced site enclosures, energy-efficient radios, and resilient environmental battery systems that improve upload performance and reduce power consumption. The collaboration also includes an upgrade to Batelco’s cloud infrastructure, designed to enhance scalability, operational efficiency, and support for next-generation applications such as IoT, 5G Advanced, and AI-powered operations.

“By expanding our coverage to new areas, deploying cutting-edge network equipment, and integrating advanced experience technologies, we are ensuring that Batelco’s network remains at the forefront of reliability and performance,” said Maitham Abdulla, CEO of Batelco by Beyon.

This latest phase marks a significant milestone in Batelco’s mission to provide Bahrain with world-class connectivity while advancing the Kingdom’s broader digital transformation agenda under the Beyon Group.
