Avanti Communications has expanded its collaboration with Türksat, securing additional capacity on the Türksat 5B high-throughput satellite (HTS) to enhance connectivity across Africa, with a strong focus on underserved regions in Southern Africa. The new agreement builds on their 2019 partnership and is designed to deliver high-performance satellite services for enterprises, communities, and telecom operators.
Through the deal, Avanti aims to create seamless, high-capacity connectivity and support new inter-operator partnerships that can strengthen national and regional telecom growth. The added capacity allows Avanti’s South African partners to tap into the combined strengths of both operators.
Avanti’s director Debbie Mavis said the partnership helps meet rising GEO satellite demand and extends coverage to the people and businesses that need it most. Türksat VP Dr. Selman Demirel highlighted South Africa as a key growth market and said Avanti’s strong local presence makes it an ideal partner for Türksat’s expansion strategy.
