ITIDA and Ericsson Sign Three-Year MoU to Boost Egypt’s Digital Transformation and ICT Expansion

Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding with Ericsson to accelerate the country’s digital transformation and strengthen its ICT and digital services sectors. Announced under the patronage of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, the partnership aligns with the Digital Egypt Strategy for Offshoring Industry 2022–2026 and aims to enhance ICT technologies, expand engineering and R&D capabilities, and create new youth employment opportunities.

The agreement includes joint initiatives in digital skills training, job fairs, and academic collaboration to support students and graduates entering Egypt’s growing tech workforce. Communications Minister Amr Talaat emphasized that this MoU is part of a wider wave of investment from 55 global and local companies expanding their offshoring operations in Egypt. He highlighted the country’s skilled talent base, strong digital infrastructure, and strategic location—factors that position Egypt as a trusted global hub for high-quality digital services.

ITIDA CEO Ahmed El-Zaher noted that the MoU showcases global confidence in Egypt’s ability to deliver high-value services, while Ericsson’s regional president Kevin Murphy reaffirmed the company’s commitment to innovation, local talent development, 5G deployment, and Egypt’s broader Vision 2030 digital agenda.
