Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli inaugurated the 29th edition of Cairo ICT 2025, held November 16–19 in New Cairo under the theme “AI Everywhere.” Bringing together over 500 exhibitors and major public and private stakeholders, the event highlights Egypt’s rapid progress in digital transformation and its ambitions to become a regional technology powerhouse.
Madbouli said the ICT sector has become a strategic engine for national economic growth, shifting from a service-based model to one focused on technology exports and high-value innovation. He toured key initiatives including the new Digital Egypt services for citizens abroad, enabling remote access to authenticated civil documents.
ICT Minister Amr Talaat outlined key priorities: expanding digital access, scaling technology manufacturing, strengthening digital identity, and investing in skills development. Egypt now hosts 15 mobile manufacturing brands with $200 million invested and capacity to produce 20 million devices annually. Local fiber-optic cable manufacturing is also expanding, generating thousands of jobs.
More than 285,000 citizens have benefited from the Mahara-Tech program, recently recognized by UNESCO for responsible digital learning. The event also features major transformation projects across real estate, justice, and public services, alongside 5G infrastructure, data centers, and marine connectivity initiatives.
Specialized side events include fintech and e-payments (PAFIX), AI and cloud computing (AIDC), youth tech innovation, and cybersecurity showcases, with participation from leading state authorities including MCIT, CBE, NTRA, ITIDA, and Egypt Post.
