Morocco’s Digital Development Agency (ADD) has approved a new roadmap, action plan, and budget to fast-track the country’s digital transformation under the Digital Morocco 2030 strategy. The decisions were endorsed during the agency’s seventh board meeting, reflecting a renewed national push to position Morocco as a competitive regional digital hub.
The updated roadmap focuses on building a sustainable, inclusive, and innovative digital ecosystem that strengthens economic competitiveness and significantly improves public services. A major priority is enhancing e-administration platforms and raising Morocco’s global standing by improving its ranking in the UN Online Services Index—from 113th today to the top 50 by 2030.
To support these ambitions, the government has allocated 11 billion dirhams ($1.1 billion) between 2024 and 2026. In parallel, national telecom operators are investing an additional $8 billion to accelerate the expansion of 5G infrastructure, targeting 85% nationwide coverage by 2030. Combined, these investments form one of the most ambitious digital modernization programs in the region, designed to enable broad-based digital access and support Morocco’s long-term economic development.
