ABB Opens Major AI and Digital Solutions Training Centre in UAE

ABB, the global leader in electrification and automation, has inaugurated a large-scale training and customer experience centre in Dubai to strengthen digital and engineering capabilities across the Middle East. The new ABB Customer Experience Center aims to accelerate the adoption of advanced electrification technologies and AI-driven energy management solutions for data centres, utilities, and smart industrial, commercial, and residential buildings.

Located in Dubai’s Al Quoz Industrial Area, the $2 million, 2,500 sqm facility features a state-of-the-art workshop, lecture theatre, and collaborative learning spaces. ABB expects to train around 2,000 engineers and technicians annually, helping the region build the next generation of talent skilled in digital asset management, predictive maintenance, and remote monitoring.

Marco Tellarini, Senior Vice President for ABB Electrification Service in Europe, the Middle East & Africa, highlighted the sector’s growing skills gap as veteran technicians retire. He emphasised that the new centre will bridge this gap by providing hands-on exposure to AI, data-driven asset management, and advanced electrification tools—critical technologies needed to meet the UAE’s rising electricity demand, projected to increase by up to 4% annually through 2035.

As industries expand and the energy transition accelerates, ABB said strategic, AI-enabled asset management will be essential for improving energy resilience, reducing costs, and advancing net-zero goals. The new centre positions the UAE at the forefront of regional innovation in energy systems and digital transformation.
